Water Drops, Wolves, and Ribbons...

~ My brother, Dr B, has a lovely and talented friend, who is a "fine art story teller". Whether it is with animals, people, or nature, Sera transforms life and memories into beautiful art. Her water drop paintings are so peaceful. She has also created cool fund raising pictures such as the warm painting of Tiaga and Minka, for the California Wolf Center in Julian, CA.
Sera's website is::
oh gosh it's autumn again!Tiaga and Minka

~ We always have a box of ribbons from holidays & birthday gifts; all too pretty to throw out, but will we really use them again? Here is a great project to try - just in time to brighten up the coming holiday celebrations. Clever coasters created with ribbons,

~ We are longing for a visit to our secret cove. An Autumn cruise on the Lake would be perfect. If there is any doubt, here is a peek at Lake Mojave in the Fall...

t.g.i.f.

~ Whether it’s a chat with our attorney,
or a short converstion with a contractor
or bank teller – it’s apparent that everyone
is anxious about the economy.
How did life in the great USA
get so crappy, so fast?
Charisma doesn’t necessarily
spawn beneficial change.
We shall see.

However, who would expect a vodka company
to come up with a warm fuzzy commercial?
This makes you feel good,
even without a sip of booze…
now, be kind, it won't cost you a dime!

~ Our Little Man, JJF, will celebrate
a birthday this month. Oh, how life
has changed since I was his age.
For instance, our now glitzy
bursting-with-opulent-fun trips to
Las Vegas, would’ve looked like this,
when I was 3:

~ sprinkles of wisdom:
"Don't wait for something big to occur.
Start where you are, with what you have,
and that will always lead you into
something greater".
Mary Manin Morrissey

"Everyone has inside them a
piece of good news.
The good news is you don't
know how great you can be!
How much you can love!
What you can accomplish!
And what your potential is! "
Anne Frank

"Years wrinkle the skin,
but to give up enthusiasm
wrinkles the soul".
Author Unknown

from the darkside:
~ Demon mummies
(from:http://www.pinktentacle.com )
"It might seem odd that Buddhist temples
in Japan house the occasional stray
mummified demon (oni), but then again
it makes sense to keep them under the
watchful eye of a priest, instead of letting
them prowl the streets. Zengyōji (善行寺)
temple in the city of Kanazawa
(Ishikawa prefecture)
is home to the mummified head of a
three-faced demon. Legend has it that
a resident priest discovered the mummy
in a temple storage chamber in the
early 18th century. Imagine his surprise".

~ to end on a light note,
here is a reminder to all
you river rats. we are only a few
months away from our
secret cove. be ready!

monster storm memories

As we woke up today
listening to howling wind,
I flashed on a 4th of July Monster Storm,
which struck during one of our
vacation adventures.
The 100 mph winds started like this:

Monday Musings

~ As the suspense & thrills of the 2008 Olympics quickly fade into a memory, we shift gears back to our own reality routines. Summer is also beginning to retreat; school has started for many.
Fall will be emerging... I love this season.

5ive Things To Do ….Sometime Soon:
51. Buy new sheet music, & play beautiful music
with my cello & piano.
52. Make a killing in the Stock Market. HA!
53. Organize my Mom & Dad’s old fotos, so my Girls
will always have the important Family history.
54. Make time, with my M.A.N., for a fishing trip
to our secret cove. puhleeeez!
55. Take my Family to the shores of the beautiful Santa Barbara beach, where Dr. B. & I set free our Parents ashes. We can toss more rose petals into the sea with love, & have a quiet moment of great memories.

Quotes to ponder...
“Happiness depends more on the inward disposition of mind than on outward circumstances.”
Benjamin Franklin

A favorite of my brother, Dr B:
"
Nothing is ever what it seems,
but everything is exactly what it is."
~BBanzai

My quote to start the week:
"If you have built castles in the air,
your work need not be lost;
there is where they should be.
Now put foundations under them."
Henry David Thoreau

Observation of a Genious
I have noticed recently, that my brother,
Dr B, & many of his brainiac buddies, have one common thread. They all keep an active & content child within. Their collective brilliant minds truly know how to find their Happy Place; no doubt. Whether it is a relaxing trip to the beach, a fun-packed day at Disneyland, or a risky exploration of a cave ~ they know the benefits of laughter & play, & do it often. Could this be a confirmation of their years of intense brain research?
I wonder.
