every choice you have made,

summer blessings

Yes, we love road trips!
Spirits in the sky

a very famous arch
nature's famous arches
sombrero siesta
spotty dotty lizzy
Rocky Mountain high
Summer excursions, exploring,
& enjoying a happy life.
It’s all Fine.
New home, new pool.
Too exciting for words.
A world of water to
replenish the soul.
Do you see happy elements
glimmer in a river of light?
Listen to the warm.
~~~~~
love it. live it.
a dream completed.
~ We watch The Unit;
a weekly dose of
Delta Force suspense.
Hoo-Ah!
The theme song somehow
seems to reflect Mom’s Day,
every day…
"Give me your secrets,
Bring me a sign...
Give me a reason
To walk the fire.
See another dawn
Through a daughter's eyes...
You give me a reason
To walk the fire…"
~ Ask yourself:
Who is the happiest person you know?
Who is the most honest person in your life?
What was the scariest event you’ve been through?
Where do you dream of living?
What is the most annoying responsibility you have?
What is your earliest memory?
Who was your favorite teacher in elementary school?
What were 5 of your favorite things to do as a child.
What are your top 3 favorite foods?
Who would you like to be your next door neighbor?
What country would you like to visit?
What do you want to be doing in 5 years? 10 years?
To each answer, add why.
~ Australian researchers compiled a list of
7 habits of people with great memories:
1. Have fewer than 2 alcoholic drinks a day.
2. Watch less than 1 hr of TV daily
3. Read novels.
4. Do crosswords.
5. Eat fish
6. Drink tea or coffee
7. Keep a journal.
Happy New Year
1-1-09 dawned with a gorgeous
clear sky, & great hope.
Great hope and a renewed
sense of Gambare.
I found spirits in our home
were content & happy.
Everyone was up & at ‘em early;
being productive without any monku.
~ To start ’09,
let’s see 5ive more of the
50 Habits of Highly Successful People
source:: Lifehack May 12, 2008 ::
6. They ask the right questions -- the ones
which put them in a positive mindset
and emotional state.
7. They rarely complain.
8. They don’t blame, and take complete
responsibility for their actions and outcomes.
9. They always find a way to maximize
their potential, and use what they
have effectively.
10. They are busy, productive and proactive.
~ Christmas was wonderful.
I’m so proud of my fantastic family.
To be surrounded with such
love is priceless.
Thank you one & all!
Everyone really pitched
in to pull Christmas dinner together.
A special arigato to CF’s husband,
JWF; always willing to pitch in with
his admirable chef caliber skills.
Also, arigato to Dr B, for his
signature smoked turkey
and brain jello.
What a feast!
Amidst all the busy chaos
of Christmas day,
this was one of my favorite scenes,
as it involved JWF & JJF::
Father with Son, & a gingerbread train.
~ The frosty Winter Solstice has spread
it’s chill, and Santa has dashed cheerfully
around the world; leaving smiles & hope
around us. A fine ‘09 is ready
to burst into life. Time to think about
New Year’s resolutions that
will truly make a difference.
Stay positive & kind….most of all,
be happy & healthy.
Think hard, make your list.
It's never too late.
“ She gives most who gives with joy”
...Mother Teresa
My thought for
a winter day...
The pine cone is symbolic of
the continuation of life.
In its spiraling form,
the basis for the essence of
viable miracles.
The essential matrix,
as a reflection
of all Life.
Assurance of nature's
rebirth and regeneration.
Wishing all y’all a Happy, Healthy, Prosperous 2009!
happy humpday
Success is more a function of
consistent common sense
than it is of genius.
An Wang
One of Dad’s quotes...
Common sense tells me it’s so!
He always seemed to be a genius to me.
~ Arigato to cf & my s-i-l, jf, for having the
Thanksgiving Family invasion at their home.
After a big dose of creative planning,
the entire Family came together
at their lovely home on Thanksgiving.
Delicious pot luck contributions
and car pooling all blended happily.
I love Family celebrations.
~ The Family ended Thanksgiving
with a wild game of BLURT.
So much laughter & hilarious responses.
The game itself is excellent.
Players ranged from a zippy 7 year old
to Dr Uncle B [the brain researcher],
& everyone in between.
BLURT was uncomplicated,
but a bit challenging for all levels. Pure fun.
~ During the past year, I sadly anticipated that we’d hear about increases in domestic violence and violent crimes,
when the economy plunged in free fall mode.
Be extra aware & stay safe wherever you go.
If the bakayaros are
packin’ heat at a Toys R’Us,
then you can expect guns anywhere.
~ Cyber Monday! Good deals overflowing to the rest of the holiday shopping season. Great shopping opportunity - cozy slippers, with
a hot cuppa joe. Free shipping on top of discounts is the key.
~ Welcoming suggestions for Christmas day ~
breakfast, lunch, & dinner.
Snacks? Beverages? Dessert?
How healthy can we be?
Let us see…
~
~ All moons are named...
December, Cold Moon,
The cold of winter sets in.
workaholic?
My M.A.N. seems to work 24/7 year over year.
Even in this horrible market, he keeps
the jobs coming in somehow.
That’s amazing in the construction business
these days... some say it is actually crazy.
He insists that he can keep his business
thriving during this economic insanity.
As I am not feeling like a Pollyanna right now,
I suggested that he should have his
head examined!
YIKES!
So, TGIF... & some quotes to ponder:
"A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval. "
— Mark Twain
"Moderation is the silken string running through the pearl chain of all virtues. "
— Bishop Joseph Hall
and, bottom line...
"My mama used to say, 'You keep using the same ingredients, you're making the same cake.' If you want to make a new cake, you got to change the ingredients." - Ice-T
URGENT MESSAGE:
Hey, Mr Mayor of L.A-holes:
Your pet project for filling the potholes
is working like this...
12:30 A.M.>9-1-08>
SLAM, SCREECH, BANG, BANG, SLAM,
SCREEEECH, BANG, BANG.
What in the friggen world????
Jump out of bed, run to the window,
FLASH, FLASH, SLAM, BANG, SCREEEECH.
Oh - it's Los Angeles City
workers - pretending to
FIX A POT HOLE
in front of our house
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.
What the $@#&*+%$ do you think
you're doing?????
Oh, uh, it's the end of the fiscal year
& we have to do this
to get the money.
(Ok - first of all, it's already August,
so you missed the deadline.
Gonna lie about the date? Great.)
So, dumping bags of asphalt in a hole
& stomping on it with your stinkin' feet,
then dragging a shovel across the street
to wake up the neighborhood;
just so you can bill the City...
THAT'S THE MAYOR'S PLAN ???
It's not working, Mr Mayor of L.A-holes!!!!!
HEY - THIS METHOD IS COMPLETELY
WRONG ANYWAY - IT'S MAKING THE
POTHOLES WIDER & DEEPER.
Yeah, the City workers know it's
not the right way to fix the holes,
& now the citizens know it.
Are you blind, or do you just not care?????
Bottom line - it's inexcusable for
YOU to waste our tax $$$ on
this asinine project.
