Recently, our cable was out for a day,
which meant no computers, no TV.
The computer downtime was
the most annoying.
This seems to happen a little
more since they converted to digital.
Anyway, I started asking the Family
what their favorite TV shows were,
when they were kids, & now.
A spur of the moment topic for the mom blog.
Actually, nobody has time to watch TV
regularly now, but here’s a sample of
what we’ve enjoyed through the years:
THEN [as KIDS!]
m.a.n.: Lassie, Rin-Tin-Tin, Sky King
b.q.: Mickey Mouse Club, Flipper, National Velvet
Dr. B: Superman, Twilight Zone, Star Trek
c.f.: Gidget, Punky Brewster, Silver Spoon
or Facts of Life
bb: Blossom, Punky Brewster, Batman
or X-men cartoons
dd: Saved By The Bell, Blossom, Doug
kk: Rugrats, Boy Meets World, Sesame Street
(especially Elmo)
NOW
m.a.n.: Football, Cops, The Unit
b.q.: E.R., Mad Money & Fast Money, '08 Olympics!
Dr. B: [doesn't watch much TV.
Busy doing brain research at UCLA]
c.f.: Everyday Italian, Ace of Cakes,
dd: How It’s Made, Family Guy (sometimes),
bb: Friends, Intervention, The Soup
kk: Intervention, KTLA news, Cops
Occasionally, it's nice to enjoy watching
a recent movie released on HBO
or other premium channels,
or pick a favorite with the On Demand feature.
Discovery always has great shows.
The Food Network has a yummy variety.
Despite the 100s of channels,
I don't really see my Famliy
watching much TV these days.
Life is too busy ~ that's our reality show!

Dis & Dat
Tiny adorable little doggie, Mr Winkle. I buy his calendar ; creative adorable poses.
Take a peek: http://www.mrwinkle.com/
A quote from UCLA’s Coach John Wooden
(Wooden on Leadership):
“ It’s what you learn after you know it all
that counts”
Think about it.
and another thought for the day:
“IF YOU’RE NOT LIVING ON THE EDGE, THEN YOU’RE TAKING UP TOO MUCH SPACE”
origin unknown
my current favorite.
I love MUSIC – Listening to Playlist #1:
The Circle Game...Joni Mitchell & James Taylor.
Sukiyaki…Kyu Sakamoto.
Dress Rehearsal…Carolyn Dawn Johnson.
After The Rain…Hiroshima.
I’m Your Captain…Grand Funk Railroad.
Leave…John Corbett.
That’s All…Thee Midnighters.
If I Could Turn Back Time…Cher.
Light My Fire…The Doors.
Silk Road…Yoyo Ma.
Suite Judy Blue Eyes…CSNY.
Up On The Roof…The Drifters.
Don’t Stop Believin’…Journey.
Crucify…Tori Amos.
Into The West…Annie Lennox.
Time of The Season…The Byrds.
I’ve Got Sunshine…The Temptations.
Here, There, & Everywhere…The Beatles.
etc.
Playing forevahhhh in my head > ii-wan-pu-pu…BES.
Have often wondered why I can remember all the lyrics to my favorite songs from back in the day, but can’t remember one lick of anything I learned in high school. Music should be played in all classes, no question.
For all you campers ~
HEADS UP!
URGENT MESSAGE:
Hey, Mr Mayor of L.A-holes:
Your pet project for filling the potholes
is working like this...
12:30 A.M.>9-1-08>
SLAM, SCREECH, BANG, BANG, SLAM,
SCREEEECH, BANG, BANG.
What in the friggen world????
Jump out of bed, run to the window,
FLASH, FLASH, SLAM, BANG, SCREEEECH.
Oh - it's Los Angeles City
workers - pretending to
FIX A POT HOLE
in front of our house
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.
What the $@#&*+%$ do you think
you're doing?????
Oh, uh, it's the end of the fiscal year
& we have to do this
to get the money.
(Ok - first of all, it's already August,
so you missed the deadline.
Gonna lie about the date? Great.)
So, dumping bags of asphalt in a hole
& stomping on it with your stinkin' feet,
then dragging a shovel across the street
to wake up the neighborhood;
just so you can bill the City...
THAT'S THE MAYOR'S PLAN ???
It's not working, Mr Mayor of L.A-holes!!!!!
HEY - THIS METHOD IS COMPLETELY
WRONG ANYWAY - IT'S MAKING THE
POTHOLES WIDER & DEEPER.
Yeah, the City workers know it's
not the right way to fix the holes,
& now the citizens know it.
Are you blind, or do you just not care?????
Bottom line - it's inexcusable for
YOU to waste our tax $$$ on
this asinine project.
