CIRQUE is back!~ A lifetime in So. Cal, has to be bursting with fond beach memories, including fun on the Santa Monica Pier. Day or night, families mingle and play together. There are some very unusual characters roaming the pier, but it's never boring. I remember when Dr B took cf & friend to a Cirque du Soleil performance in Santa Monica, years ago. When BB and DD turned 21, we all zoomed up to Vegas to see KA, which was absolutely magnificent. Now, Cirque is back, presenting a thrilling KOOZA, October 16, 2009 through December 20, 2009! Take a peek:

~ Disney Family Fun has a Halloween Melon Brain in it's craft section that is simply creepy perfection.

MELON BRAIN
1. Use a vegetable peeler to remove the entire green rind, exposing the inner white rind.

2. Slice off the bottom of the melon to create a flat base that will keep it from rolling. With a toothpick, outline squiggly furrows that resemble the folded surface of a brain.

3. Finally, carve narrow channels along the tracings with a sharp paring knife (a parent's job) to expose the pink fruit beneath the rind.
