Recycled Leaf Project

We had fun with this leaf project, that we found at the Crafty Crow (one of our fav blogs for projects).

Things we talked about:
recycle
environment
why trees are important
oxygen & carbon dioxide
chlorophyll
leaf identification and tree parts
evergreens

We started by blowing black paint through straws
onto recycled cardboard cereal boxes.
This made the trunk, branches, and twigs of the tree.
Then we glued crunched leaves we found on a short walk
around the neighborhood. On our walk we also discussed
who makes up our community.
